    1. Check out this tutorial using GIMP pipe brushes. It's similar to what you are trying to do.

    2. Thank you!

I had tried that before but in my gimp 2 I don't know where to save the new brush, can't find the exact folder.

    3. username/gimp-2.6/brushes or whichever version of GIMP you might be using. They go in the brushes folder.

    When saving it fails:
    Saving 'C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\brushes\metal.gih' failed:

Could not open 'C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\brushes\metal.gih' for writing: Permission denied

    1. Don't save it to C:\Program Files. Save it to your username/gimp/brushes folder.

If you intend to comment to complain about being unable to perform certain steps with tutorials, please explain where you are in the step process and what step you are unable to get to work correctly, instead of saying something like, "I can't do this!". Your comments will help get tutorial corrections made and help give clarification to future viewers who may have trouble in the same locations. Thank you. :)
